Who is Rens?

I am Rens Landman.

I grew up in Zevenbergen, North Brabant. It took me a long time to discover what I truly wanted to do in my working life. School was never my place; I preferred working with my hands and making things beautiful. It didn't matter what, whether it was old stereos I took apart or laptops I disassembled and reassembled. Even on vacation, I was busy: wood carving with a sharp knife or making a bow and arrows.

In 2019, I moved to Utrecht for love, after meeting my girlfriend in Colombia. While searching for what I wanted to do, I tried various jobs: installation technician, sales... but nothing felt right. When my girlfriend found a traditional boat building school in Amersfoort, everything clicked. There, I discovered my passion for craftsmanship. Now I know that I want to work with old materials and create new, beautiful objects in a traditional way.
